Point Lookout Light Point Lookout, Maryland Point Lookout is located at the very end of of the western shore of Maryland, near Scotland, a few miles south of St. Mary's City in Point Lookout State Park. The lighthouse was constructed in 1830 on a budget of only $3,350, hence its modest design. The light was deactivated in 1966 but remains part of a tracking station for the nearby Patuxent Naval Base. It is open to the public one weekend a year, usually in the fall. |
